Lieutenant Colonel Lewis

Head of Youth Engagement, Royal Military Academy Sandhurst

Lieutenant Colonel Lewis was born in Barnet in 1973. He attended The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1993 and commissioned into The Parachute Regiment. During his time in the Army he has predominantly commanded or worked in training roles. He has served in Northern Ireland, Kosovo, and Iraq. In 2008 he commanded a Rifle Company in Afghanistan over a demanding summer tour. He was awarded the Military Cross for leadership and gallantry and subsequently wrote a book; Company Commander, about the tour. He has worked in Defence Procurement and more recently he worked as an instructor at the Joint Command and Staff College. During this period he completed an MSc in Leadership and Management with Portsmouth Business School. He left Regular Service in 2013 and now delivers strategy, leadership and high-performance team building training to both the commercial and charitable sector. He joined the Regular Reserves in Aug 17 and took up a post at the Centre for Army Leadership in Sept 17. In October 2020 he promoted and joined the Engagement team.
