Mark Maciver

Barber Mark Maciver, better known as the Slider of SliderCuts, shapes up a list of high-profile clients, including Stormzy, Tinie Tempah, Anthony Joshua and Marvin Humes. Having started out as an apprentice over 20 years ago, in June 2018 he launched his own barbershop on Hackney Road and that experience led to him providing education to others, including establishing runner schemes designed to mentor young people in the community. Mark’s tireless work ethic and inspiring campaigns, like Shaping Up Culture (a collection of inspirational how-to guides that teach others from a similar background to him how to run a successful business), have led to projects with Facebook and Nike, while his razor-sharp styling means he’s booked by brands including Louis Vuitton and Burberry at London and Paris fashion weeks. “I’ve been in a Facebook advert, a Nike advert, an Under Armour advert… I’ve been in GQ, I’ve done a collaboration campaign with Reebok, I’ve been asked to do things with Puma, with Adidas. It is so overwhelming when I think of myself when I was 14... I would have never ever thought I would have been collaborating with these different kinds of brands.
