Ways to get involved

Inspirational and career talks
We’ve lined up an exciting mix of creative professionals, from game designers to art directors, to deliver inspiring 1-hour talks. Students will gain real insight into life in the creative industries, with stories and advice drawn directly from hands-on experience.

Insight Days
Our 3-5-hour introductory Insight Days give students a clear understanding of the roles and skills needed for a successful career in the creative industries. These sessions also shine a light on specific career pathways, helping young people explore their options with confidence.

Work experience
We offer multi-day work experience for students to explore creative careers, in partnership with some of the UK’s leading organisations. Experiences are available in-person and remotely, and as a hybrid of the two, making it easier than ever to get involved. These placements will:
-
Be an interactive and immersive opportunity to learn in depth about careers in tech
-
Allow the employer to showcase their organisation and the roles they offer
-
Boost confidence and skills, and add a high-quality experience to their CV

Getting young talents Into Film
Remote work experience
The UK’s leading charity for film in education, Into Film, worked in close partnership with Futures For All to provide a 3-day remote placement for 48 young people from across the country – where they discovered the depth of employment possibilities in screen careers. As part of the placement, the students applied some of their learning by writing their own film review.
93% of students, from areas such as Belfast, Manchester, Bedford and London, gave their placement a 4 or 5-star rating, and 97% said that post-placement, they now have a better understanding of what skills and qualities employers are looking for.
“I really enjoyed hearing how they made it into the industry and all their advice and tips. It really opened my mind and helped me think about my next steps! I also loved the friendly environment which made me want to log on every morning and look forward to the day!”

Why creative careers matter
Only 10%
of UK creative workers are ethnically diverse, compared to 23% of the working population.
Only 17%
from visual/arts/ music/performing, and 8% from film/tv/radio, are from working-class backgrounds.
Less than 1%
of people in Northern coastal areas are employed in a creative sector job, highlighting the lack of accessibility.
9 in 10
of creative employees have worked for free, which is a barrier for disadvantaged students.
