Inside the Virtual Work Experience

In June 2025, Zurich Insurance partnered with Futures For All to deliver a 2-day online (remote) work experience placement designed to raise awareness of careers in the insurance and financial services sector.

Hosted entirely online, the online work experience gave young people from across the UK a network of like-minded peers and a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work in insurance, broadening their understanding of the industry and available careers.

Participants met remotely with professionals from across Zurich Insurance to gain valuable insights into a variety of business areas, including Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Data Science, IT and Operations; as well as their graduate schemes and apprenticeships. They even had the opportunity to develop their CVs and interview skills, learning first-hand from colleagues what insurance companies look for when hiring, and receiving actionable advice for their first steps into a successful career in the industry.

Remote work experience programmes like this open doors for young people across the UK, making it easier than ever to connect with employers in industries that were once hard to access – or full of hidden opportunities.
