Alison Lowe MBE

Alison has been recognised as one of the leading supporters of new generation talent in the creative industries, encouraging enterprise development, future sector skills and knowledge. With experience across the sector from performance to media to fashion, Alison is uniquely positioned in the creative industries to develop and promote cross-sector high-level collaborations and partnerships. Awarded an MBE for Services to the Fashion Industry in HRH The Queen’s Birthday Honours 2017, Alison was also nominated and awarded as one of the Maserati 100 for 2016 for the support she gives the next generation of entrepreneurs. A passionate and motivational speaker, Alison has used her performance training and experience to develop high level speaking skills and she is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences and events. She has a unique gift for engaging the audience and inspiring them to support young creative talent.

A dynamic and results-oriented entrepreneur, Alison has been credited as the conduit that resulted in her clients and mentees achieving career success and profitable business growth. Alison is renowned for her practical, realistic approach to running a creative business, sharing the knowledge and experience she gained from running her own creative industry recruitment agency, fashion agencies and logistics company. Her published works include the Amazon No.1 bestseller, How to Start Your Own Fashion Label and the academic textbook “Fashion Brand Management’ which is the start of a Creative Industries series she is commissioned to write for London Publisher Kogan Page.

Moving away from her businesses following a period of succession planning, Alison is now focused on education and career building for next generation of creatives and entrepreneurs and has been gaining experience in academia working with a host of international arts institutions before joining the University of East London. She has gained experience of developing new programmes through to validation including the new UEL MBA Fashion Entrepreneurship subjects including Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Start Up Fashion Businesses, Marketing and PR. Alison was a founding member of the Centre for Entrepreneurs, a judge for The Great British Entrepreneur Awards and an ambassador for Be Inspired promoting entrepreneurial spirit in the retail environment.
