Amy Redmond

Amy started out at BBC Radio 1/1Xtra as a Radio Producer, then in 2015 left broadcasting to co-found Margate Arts Club, Margate Pride, and OUT Margate, an LGBTQ+ youth club recognised by Amnesty International. Today she's a director of Margate Pride and an artist working with felt for activism and social change, running community projects and creative workshops — including badge-making sessions at Turner Contemporary. Her work has won a Community Award at the Attitude Awards, a certificate from the Mayor of Margate, and a Thanet Community Champion Award. Her path shows there's no single route into a creative career — you can build the job you want rather than wait for it to exist.

Guest speaker as part of Discover Creative Careers.
