Andy Bagnall

Andy is the Director General of the British Soft Drinks Association (BSDA), a trade body that represents soft drink, fruit juice and water manufacturers and importers, with over twenty years of experience working within government and in public policy advocacy across the private sector.
Andy has held a number of policy and communications jobs before leading the BSDA, most recently as the Chief Executive of Rail Partners and before that the Director General at the Rail Delivery Group, where he coordinated policy and advocacy activities for the rail industry.
Prior to this Andy was KPMG’s Director of External Affairs, coordinating the firms political and public policy engagement on issues as diverse as industrial strategy, corporate responsibility and social mobility
Before KPMG, Andy spent five years at the CBI as Director of Campaigns and held responsibility for co-ordinating political engagement with all the major parties, putting across the business community's views.
The first decade of his career was in political campaigning and policy roles including as a special adviser to the UK government, serving two cabinet ministers in three departments over four years.
