Baroness Anji Hunter

Senior Advisor, Edelman UK & Member of House of Lords

Baroness Anji Hunter is a Member of the House of Lords, where she champions girls and women, especially in the tech sphere. A former Director at the Royal Academy of Engineering, she set up the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.

Alongside her work as a parliamentarian, she works for the international communications company, Edelman, working with them to help promote senior women in the communications industry. She has long advocated for the advancement of women through educating themselves.

She has worked for other businesses, as Group Director of Communications of the energy company BP and Group Head of External Relations of the mining company, Anglo American, travelling extensively, liaising with the communities, governments, opinion-formers and the media in the countries where the companies operate.

She began her career, a new graduate, as a research assistant to a young MP, Tony Blair, and became the Head of Government Relations in 10 Downing Street when he became Prime Minister.
