Cassie is Director of Culture, Collections and Public Engagement at the University of Birmingham, which is among the top 100 universities globally, and home to world-class museums and collections spanning the arts and sciences including the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Lapworth Museum of Geology, Winterbourne House and Gardens, and University Collections and public art.
Cassie was the inaugural Chief Executive of the reading for fun charity World Book Day from 2019-2025.
Before this she was Head of UK Theatre, the major professional association for theatre and the performing arts.
Cassie was previously Director, Media and Stakeholder Relations at Arts Council England, working with Government and the arts sector to promote the importance of the sector within society and the creative economy.
Before then Cassie was Publicity Director of William Heinemann at Random House and led campaigns for a range of bestselling fiction, non-fiction and celebrity authors.
She is a Trustee for the Kids Network and Chair of Culture Central. She is a Fellow of the RSA, and works with Speakers for Schools.
