Fatima Salaria

Fatima Salaria is one of the UK’s most respected creative leaders in factual and factual drama. She is the former Managing Director of Naked Television, where she oversaw a wide-ranging and distinctive slate spanning premium documentaries, returnable factual formats, and popular entertainment. Her credits include The Rap Game UK, The Apprentice, Grand Designs, Charles Bronson: Fit to Be Free, Brian Cox: How We Earn and Spend, and Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne.
Prior to Naked, Fatima was Head of Specialist Factual at Channel 4, where she commissioned acclaimed series across history, science, religion, and current affairs. Earlier in her career, she was a Commissioning Editor at the BBC, where she led on Religion and Ethics and developed projects with an eye for underrepresented voices and innovative storytelling.
She currently serves as Executive Chair of the Edinburgh TV Festival, championing talent development and diversity across the industry. She is also a long-time mentor and advocate for inclusion, supporting emerging creatives from across the sector.
In her newly created role as Head of Factual at Dancing Ledge Productions—one of the UK’s most prestigious drama companies, best known for The Salisbury Poisonings, The Responder, and Big Mood, Fatima is spearheading the expansion of the company’s factual and factual drama slate. She is developing documentary projects that pair with and complement DLP’s scripted output, as well as stand-alone factual titles with the same narrative power, authorship, and ambition that define the company’s drama.
Her aim is to build a factual slate that speaks to the times: urgent, cinematic, authored, and emotionally compelling. This includes high-profile limited series rooted in real events, stories at the intersection of politics and identity, and international collaborations that reflect a globalised, streaming-first landscape.
Outside of work, she forces herself to enjoy walking—and genuinely enjoys indulging in sweets.
