I am a serial entrepreneur having started my first proper business at 24, going on to help start or found a variety of enterprises from coffee companies to financial services firms.
My main business, Somerset Capital Management was a specialist Global Emerging Markets company investing in often small opportunities in the growing regions such as Asia, Africa and Latin America.
In 2022 I became a UK government ministers focussing on getting international companies and large governments to invest in the U.K. - especially in the new sectors such as clean energy, life sciences, AI and technology services.
I am now the Opposition spokesman for Business and Trade in the House of Lords.
