Nicholas Sanders

I am a jet engine engineer by training. I worked for Rolls Royce for 13 years working in various engineering roles. I then joined Lucas Aerospace where I was Chief Engineer of Fuel Systems then VP of Operations. When I have 40 I joined Invensys plc and became CEO if their air compressor business. The business was in distress but with the backing of a private equity fund I bought the business for £1 and sold if 6 years later for £205m. I then did a similar role at an aerospace components' company ( Gardner) which I bought for £12.5m and sold for £326m. For the last 9 years I have been chairman of a number of industrial and aerospace businesses. The most notable success has been with Doncasters which was effectively bankrupt 6 years ago . Me and two others were recruited to turn the business around and we floated the business on the NYSE for $7bn a few weeks ago.
