Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP

Rachel is a politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Leeds West and Pudsey since 2024, having previously represented Leeds West from 2010 until constituency boundary changes. 

A member of the Labour Party, she became Chancellor of the Exchequer in July 2024 following Labour's general election victory, making history as the first woman to hold the office. Before entering politics, Reeves worked as an economist at the Bank of England and later at HBOS, bringing a strong background in economics and finance to her political career.

Throughout her time in Parliament, Reeves has held a range of senior roles, including Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Shadow Minister for Work and Pensions, and Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer. She has been a prominent voice on issues such as economic growth, public finances, employment, and industrial strategy
