Steve Hatch

Former Chief Executive Officer, YouGov & Former VP Meta Northern Europe, Meta

Steve has over 30 years’ experience leading high growth Technology, Media and Marketing companies.

Most recently Steve was CEO of the data and research company YouGov PLC which he left in February 2025 after leading the shift towards AI in the company and concluding the E315m acquisition of the CPS panel business and Yabble, a leading AI business based in Auckland.

Prior to that Steve was Facebook’s first Regional Director for the UK. Appointed in 2014 he oversaw a fundamental evolution of the platform, in particular the growth in video and monetization of Instagram, together with scaling of the UK team to over 3,000 people.  In 2016, Steve become Meta’s Vice President for Northern Europe managing all business operations and strategy for the region, driving the introduction of Meta’s e-commerce products and taking global responsibility for the development of Meta’s insight tools.

Prior to joining Facebook, Steve spent 15 years at WPP, his final role being CEO of media agency MEC, which he led to become Agency of the Decade in 2013. Before joining WPP Steve worked in strategy roles at marketing services companies Omnicom, Y&R and Riggs. 

Steve spent seven years as  non-executive Director of Reach PLC, the UKs largest news publisher joining  in October 2015 and was a member of the Nomination, Audit and Risk, Remuneration and Sustainability Committees. Steve Chaired the CBI’s Technology Group from 2016-2021, was a Be the Business Advisory Board Member from 2020-23, led the Steering group of BRiM (Black Representation in Marketing) and is a member of The Marketing Group of Great Britain Council and chair of the 2022/23 season. Steve’s Co-authored  book, Rigorous Magic, was published by Wiley and translated into both Spanish and Cyrillic.

Steve is a passionate advocate for cognitive diversity, a proud dyslexic and supporter of Made By Dyslexia.org.

Personal

Steve is married with two children and has a passion for everything in, on or under the sea and for fitness, all offset by a love of food and film.
