Tony Singh MBE

Celebrity Chef and Restaurateur

Tony Singh MBE is a multi-award-winning chef, restaurateur and broadcaster with over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. Born and raised in Leith, Edinburgh, to a third-generation Scottish Sikh family, Tony began his culinary career through the Youth Training Scheme, later developing his skills in classical French technique across some of the UK’s leading kitchens.

A dynamic and entrepreneurial leader, Tony opened his first restaurant, the critically acclaimed Oloroso, on Edinburgh’s George Street aged 30, having just been named ITV’s Chef of the Year in 2000. He has since led a range of hospitality ventures, published several cookbooks, and brought his vibrant culinary style to audiences through UK and international television, including The Incredible Spice MenCooking with the StarsChef Abroad and Saturday Kitchen.

Tony is committed to shaping a more inclusive, sustainable and skilled future for the food industry. He works closely with schools, youth programmes and community food initiatives, sharing his knowledge and platform to inspire the next generation of culinary talent. His work champions the richness of Scottish and Indian food cultures, and centres on the belief that food is a powerful connector: to people, place and self.
