Reframing the Future

As a world leader in visual storytelling, Framestore pushes ideas and boundaries with their visual effects and animation – but reframing what’s possible doesn’t end there. Framestore’s work experience programme offers young people insights into the exciting world of filmmaking and visual effects, fuelling their curiosity of the industry and their confidence in future careers.
“I liked the balance between independent learning and being given the opportunity to talk to people with years of experience.”

With Framestore’s 2026 work experience currently open for application, the company’s commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for young people remains a priority.
“Our ambition for our work experience programme is to widen participation and access to our industry to young people who might otherwise not have considered the creative industries as an option… if we can show them that a whole industry existed that they didn’t even know about then hopefully we can open their eyes to many of the other possibilities that are out there for them if they just broaden their horizons a little.”
Amy Smith, Head of Talent, Framestore
We’re proud to work with an employer partner that values and invests in the next generation – and delighted that our marketplace model for work experience aligns with their needs while opening doors for young people aged 14-19 across the UK.
Futures For All’s Marketplace
Our marketplace model allows employers to easily and efficiently advertise their work experience to our student network through our free-to-use Work Experience Finder, supported by our guidance. In just a few steps, companies can list a placement as an ‘External Opportunity’ – an option that directs curious young people to the employer’s website for more details and application.
Made for employers with existing work experience frameworks and application processes, our marketplace helps companies broaden and diversify their engagement by promoting their opportunities to our network of young people from 2,200 registered state schools and colleges.
“External placements are a great option for employers with an established work experience programme who would like to extend or improve their reach to young people who might otherwise struggle or find it impossible to access the workplace due to a lack of network, lack of knowledge or a lack of support… We didn’t need assistance with programme design [so] working with a marketplace/external placement model seemed the most appropriate approach.”

Results in Action
76% of employers face challenges in recruiting talent.
73% of UK businesses suffer from skills shortages.
50% of students leave school without any work experience.
Broadening access to work experience via Futures For All’s marketplace is a simple step with a huge impact.
“It is an incredibly easy process to implement, and Futures For All supports throughout… As part of our programme of outreach activities, our work with Futures For All has led to a 20% improvement in applicant diversity to Framestore across gender, race, economic background and ability/disability... by not supporting the social mobility of young people, we are simply cutting off a wealth of untapped talent.”

Our Mission
Futures For All’s mission is to ensure that every young person in state education in the UK has access to high-quality, fully funded work experience – wherever they live, whatever their background. Through our partnerships and activities since 2010, we have supported almost 2 million young people to engage with invaluable experiences that unlock their potential and equip them with the skills required for world of work. That’s a huge network of engaged young people for employers to connect with and invest in.
“Futures For All works in some of the most disadvantaged areas and schools around the country, opening doors to young people who may not have considered opportunities outside of industries they are familiar with through family, school or their local high street. For an industry such as ours that is relatively niche, and often perceived to be something that only happens outside of the UK, this is invaluable in terms of profile but also access to incredible talent.”

The talent is out there, so let’s empower the next generation and make access to real-world opportunities and career pathways fair.
